Do you covet a unique name tag to wear for the duration of QuiltCon 2023? Let’s make one! This beginner-friendly workshop will give students the means to create a unique name tag to show off and wear for the rest of the event. The name tag made in this workshop will include your name, a small zippered pocket perfect for a hotel key, and a cute lanyard to hold all your fun pins! Take this workshop on Day one of QuiltCon to have a quick, fun, usable finish! Sewing machines provided!

Are you scared of zippers? Do you want to make something quilted that’s finished by the end of a three-hour workshop? Bring an orphan block, a mini charm pack, or a cherished fat quarter and turn it into something practical! When making a whole quilt feels overwhelming or your sewjo is low, sometimes a small, quilted project like a quilted bag can be the perfect way to jump start your motivation to sew. Sewing machines provided!
Saturday Feb 25 9AM to 12PM MSC004SatAM
Saturday Feb 25 6PM to 9PM MSC004SatEve
Half-rectangle triangles can absolutely be as useful and integral to your quilts as half-square triangles! In this workshop, students will learn about the quirks of designing with half-rectangle triangles, how to calculate the quilt math for them, and even some tricks for creating half-rectangles triangles. Students will explore the fresh repeats and design possibilities that half-rectangle triangles can give a quilt, and use a two-at-a-time technique similar to the one we’ve all come to love for making half-square triangles. Sewing machines provided!
