I saw this Adel in Autumn Fabric by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs and fell in love. Fall is one of my absolute favorite times of year and I love the chance to create “fall decor” that can work with my pumpkin tree…oh it’s a thing, but also works in my space year around.

When I saw this wideback option with beautiful drawn florals, I knew it would fit the somewhat traditional vibe of my decor but still be timeless.
I love lines that include wide back fabrics as options because it means I can make bigger cuts to make this fantastic pouf!
The Pouf Pattern I used is from Angela Lee Patchwork Moroccan Pouf Pattern available on etsy.
This pattern would be a great way to use off cuts of fabric, scraps, and even garment making fabric waste!
I made the decision to do it all in one color so it would fit into my home decor year round. In Angela’s pattern she does mention this pattern uses quite a bit of stuffing, and she is NOT wrong! This little sucker is decieving in how much it can hold! She smartly suggests going to a second hand store and finding old/worn out cushions that can be destuffed.
I went a little bit of different route. I often have fabric scraps, batting scraps, and cuts from trimming quilts that I just feel terrible tossing. I try to use what I can but when you create a lot of things even scraps can become overwhelming. I had two big Chewy Boxes filled with bits and bobs from various quilting, bag making, and garment making activities that I used to help me fill this pouf. I also used a bag of polyfill for the very top so it would less lumpy, but I’ve had that bag since I was the Kool-aid man in 2011 for Halloween….OH YEAH!
The results are quite adorable, I highly recommend trying out Angela’s pattern and maybe getting doggie models too!

The pattern was a great practice of Y-seams, inset circles, and even zipper installation! I highly recommend.
Now I’m dreaming of how great this fabric would look on the back of a quilt! Check out your LQS that carry the Riley Blake lines for this awesome fall fabric that will get you in the mood for Pumpkin Spice lattes….
