I have to admit something, I’m not a huge fan of half square triangles… when Jessica sent me this pattern to test for her I was a little hesitant. I loved Jessica’s version so much, I accepted and went to pick out fabrics.
Jessica and I share a love for Alison Glass fabrics. So I reached into my precious stash and pulled out 5 colors of AG fabrics and whittled it down to these three with my favorite Kona- Snow.
Her pattern is available to buy now on quilt mart, link below!
One of the things that gave me the nudge to try Jessica’s pattern was her instruction to create half square triangles (HST) 32-at-a-time. WOW! I’ve done 8 before, but this pattern uses over 200 HSTs so this made it quite efficient to create! See my fun little video below:
The end result of this half square triangle creation is quite the beautiful stack of quilt blocks. These need to be pressed and trimmed to set you up for great success and perfect points!
The end result is a lovely quilt that came together very quickly. The quilt aligns very easily because you trim immediately before assembling the final quilt layout. I found perfectly matched seams to be easy to achieve and the points look perfect. The movement of the quilt also offers a little camouflage if you happen to miss the perfect point mark for a few of these meetings. Shh…don’t point mine out 🙂
Jessica is currently hosting a Water Drop QAL- this is the first week so there’s still time to join.

Let me know if you pick up the pattern and what you plan to make!
