If you’re like me, you oscillate between PRINTS PRINTS PRINTS and solids only, well happily enough the Riley Blake Basics lines combine the best of both worlds!
They have so many Basics lines to choose from, but I chose the Bee Cross Stitch, Pin Drop, Blossom, and the Confetti Cotton. I love that these solids come in beautiful colors and the patterns add interest without distracting from the beautiful colors.
I chose to start working on a quilt that I love to make and is seriously SO FAST, Jamie’s On the Edge quilt. It has so many ways to make it look fresh and cool but I loved incorporating the background fabric into the stripes. Seriously this quilt is fast. Like piece in an hour fast-for a TWIN size!
It’s a wonderful first quilt, or a quilt to cleanse the palette after something with 500 pieces!
This quilt came together so fast, and the colors are striking!
One of the cool things with the basics lines is there are wideback versions. The wideback blossom is great to get extra of, you can use it for the front and back of the quilt with ease!
How do you think it turned out? Can you imagine getting this quilt done in 24 hours of work? How incredible! Need a quick gift? Need a retreat project? This On the Edge pattern is the perfect choice!
I did free motion quilting on here with one of my favorite variegathed Aurifil threads!
I hope you’ll check out Riley Blake Basics lines and choose them for your next project!
