I’m Cristina Curtis, or Tina as most of my friends and family call me. I decided that I should start a blog to continue to journal my makes and general life on the internet. My life consists of working as a Process Control Engineer by day, and sewing, crafting, and creating by night.
I spend most of my free time creating something. I primarily quilt, but am dabbling in sewing garments, bags, and embroidery. Occasionally you may see me do some wood working or home DIY, as I love to create pieces for our house that fit the budget and our style.
My personal life consists of being obsessed with my dog Shannon and my husband Cameron. He’s internet opposed so he won’t show up here much except for behind a quilt. I also spend a fair bit of time sewing and traveling with my twin sister, Gloria, and my best friends Stacy, Ben, and Kassie.
My first sewing project was recreating the 4H logo on a pillow when I was 9 or 10. I wish I could find a picture! I continued to be curious about what my grandmother, an avid quilter, was creating until finally we created our first quilt together at 14. We used machine tacking to quilt it and I hand embroidered butterflies on the center squares. I am still very fond of butterflies to this day!
I got back into quilting after college when one of my close friends got married. I wanted to make a quilt for her and her soon-to-be husband. I created that quilt and started down the slippery slope. I now absolutely love quilting and trying new techniques and pushing the limits.
Now I grew up with blogs and myspace, so I’ll get the hang of it on here. Thanks for joining me!
